Nature based orienteering

Our family orientated course is always popular whether it be weekends or school holidays. Get your family or friends together and have fun while you learn about nature as you navigate your way around a bushland course undertaking nature challenges along the way. Be a bushland detective, use your nose, ears, eyes and touch to solve puzzles to score points. We can set up a course if you have a favourite reserve, parkland or piece of bush near you. Sessions can accommodate up to 8 teams (teams of 4-6 people) per session (approx. 2 hrs).

Our corporate course is a more challenging version of the family nature-based orienteering. Teams race  against the clock and each other completing a course with 8-10 checkpoints, each worth a different  number of points. At each checkpoint a challenge relating to understanding nature or bush survival requires teams to work together to successfully complete the challenge. Challenges may include using bush products to construct something, navigation without a phone or compass, Bush First Aid, understanding a natural phenomenon and Bush survival.

Other family activities

As an experienced ecologist for over 30 years and having lived in the outback for almost 20 years, Rob spent much time tracking and observing wildlife, identifying tracks and scats including bones, skulls and droppings,  navigating in the bush and understanding landscape processes or what he likes to call "reading the bush".

If you are interested in animal tracking (looking for tracks, scats, bones, feathers) understanding bird language (absolutely fascinating) or watching wildlife please contact us. We can run half or full day programs for groups, families or corporate teams.
